This project involved the development and implementation of a Virtual Reality (VR) training program for workers performing maintenance in confined spaces at a nuclear power plant. The VR training program was designed to simulate the real-world conditions of a nuclear power plant, providing workers with a safe and controlled environment to practice and hone their skills.
Auto Decontamination Robot for Bespoke Parts Auto decon is a robotic arm that can decontaminate parts and surfaces that have been exposed to radioactive contamination at a nuclear power plant for decommissioning. The system creates a digital twin of the part to be decontaminated and determines a path for the spray nozzle to optimize removal of contamination.
AI/ML platform to scale models for use across enterprise This Initiative involved developing and deploying an AI/ML platform that scaled the application of AI/ML models to additional use cases in additional business units.

The robot uses a radiation detector and a lidar sensor to scan the environment and create a 3D map of the radiation distribution. Vector Submersible High Radiation Tolerant System Vector is a robot that can perform inspection and maintenance tasks in high radiation environments, such as nuclear reactor cores. Vector uses advanced localization techniques to determine position within highly structured surroundings, without onboard electronics. Vector uses real-time data and images from and overhead camera for position verification.
This engineering application uses artificial intelligence (AI) to perform engineering analysis and monitoring of the steam generator heat exchanger (SGHX) in a nuclear power plant. The SGHX is a complex component that transfers heat from the primary to the secondary system. The engineering application uses AI models to simulate degradation from thermal-hydraulic behavior of the SGHX.
AI/ML for Chemist and Data Scientist to Optimize Automobile Coatings Properties AI/ML models applied to manufacturing process for optimizing automobile coatings: This project involved developing and deploying AI/ML models that optimized the chemical formulation for various chemical products, such as paints, in order to reduce the manufacturing costs and improve the quality.
Radiation Exposure Management Cloud Software monitors the radiation dose of workers in nuclear plants. The software uses a wearable device that measures the radiation exposure and sends the data to a central server. The software displays the dose information on a dashboard and alerts the workers and managers of any unanticipated exposure or risks. The software helps to ensure the safety and health of workers and comply with regulatory standards.
Gemini Robotic Delivery System Operating underneath the head of a nuclear reactor vessel, the robot can precisely locate the position and orientation of an inspection device. This tool uses sensors and algorithms to measure the distance and angle between the device and the reactor components, and provides visual feedback to the operator.
Remote sub-mm spatial capture allows for quick inspection of components without accessing or physical contact. This system uses a laser scanner to capture high-resolution 3D images of nuclear plant components for degradation inspection purposes. The scanner can easily mounted/dismounted from the robot, and can be operated remotely. The scanner can capture the geometry and texture of the components, and create accurate 3D models that can be analyzed
This effort involved identifying and partnering with a drone company for the organization in order to create new sales channels and jointly develop products. The project team conducted thorough research on various drone companies and evaluated their strengths and weaknesses. As a result, the project established a successful partnership with a drone company that matched the organization’s vision and goals. The project outcome was a new sales strategy
